Lake Powell Trip 2010

We left for Lake Powell on my birthday, June 19th at 4:00 am. On the way down we had to take some bathroom breaks, even when we were in remote areas! Julie got a candid photo of me helping Drew go pee on the side of the road.
Once we got down to the houseboat, Amelia (Julie's Mom) suprised me with a birthday celebration and she made my favorite cake, Carrot with homemade cream cheese frosting... mmm!
A picutre of Paul and Staci
The next day was fathers day, all the kids gave Grandpa a fathers day card.
Billy started off right away in the water, here he is getting ready to go tubing.
Then he tried water skiing on Pauls boat, it was nice because it had a barefoot bar which helped the kids learn how to get up right next to the boat.
Playing cards is always one of the favorite passtimes at Lake Powell, Tim Sr. didn't have a very good hand as you can tell by the expression on his face!
A picture of me in the water, the temp. was perfect!
Drew took a turn water skiing. He would only try it once but he loved it!
Billy went fishing with his uncles, Paul and Tim Jr.

I enjoyed reading, something I rarely have time to do but spent a lot of time doing while on the trip!
The kids had fun on the trampoline until the black material heated up from the sun, it was good for a few days though!
Luke spent a lot of time "Chillin" in his saucer!
A picture of Julie feeding Luke.
Billy with his bandana.
Tim feeding Eli a piece of Watermelon.
A picture of where we parked the houseboat for the week.

We went for a jike and found lizards all over, this one was clinging to the side of a rock.
Tim Sr. goind down the slide on the back of the houseboat.

Billy gave it a try also.

Maggie and I in the water.
One of the boatrides. The babies were situated on all the laps.

Tim sitting in the boat during one of the many swim breaks.
A picture from underneath one of the ledges that provided shade for the swim breaks.
Halee and Magie hanging out in the water.
Luke hung out in the boat while Julie and I took a swim break. The water was a little too cold for him, he cried even when we dangled his feet in the water.

Luke hangin out with mamma on the boat.

Drew and Mavrick enjoyed squirting Billy and I while we were on the swim break. As you can see, Tim Sr. got in on the action too!

Mavrick's life jacket was riding up a little so Julie decided to take a picture. Poor kid, that can't be comfortable!
I got up early one morning and took some pictures of the sunrise. I was actually rudely awaken by the crows that were cawing on the beach. I chased them with rocks until they moved to a different beach. Next year I will be taking a pellet gun or perhaps a .22 rifle with a scope and a silencer would work as well!

Julie and I cooked breakfast one morning.
I didn't want to include this picture because as you can see I have bed head! :)
Luke and Eli hung out together and kept eachother company throughout the trip.
Later on another boat ride, the kids fell asleep in the boat while we were headed to the indian ruins that were a ways away from where we were beached.
Some of the scenery on the way to the indian ruins.
The infamous floating Kybo. I don't know why but I get a picture of this every time I go to Lake Powell. I'm curious where all the waste goes!

Tim and Amelia.
Perspective on how high the walls are, this is a two story house boat parked at the base of one of the walls.
Finally the Indian Ruins, if you look close up in the crease of the cliff, you can see the cave paintings.

Hiking up to the ruins this is a picture looking down to where we parked the boat.
Exploring the ruins.

Paul looking up through the chimney of one of the huts.

Julie and I on a swim break
More scenery.

Luke under the shade of a towel.

Another spot I always take a picture, will that boulder ever fall down?!
Drew and I went on a hike just the two of us. Drew loved it!
The rest of the gang caught up to us on the hike.
On the hike, Billy spotted his first rattle snake.
Luke taking a bath in the sink.
Tim posing for everyone later that night.
The kids all got glow sticks and played with them all night long.
Maggie the next morning getting ready to water ski.
With Paul's help...
She was nervous at first... she tried it again though later.
Billy skiing on his own.

And wiping out on his own.
All the kids that went.
Billy, Maggie, Drew, and Luke the last day heading back to the cars.

The end of a good trip, I am already looking forward to nexct year!
