Our Final Days in Hawaii

Our last few days at Hawaii we got to enjoy some of the scenery and sights. Everywhere we looked there seemed to be something new to look at.This is a picture of the resort we stayed in from above

For dinner on our second to last night we ate at the "Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory." As you can see in the background, it was all about the movie Forrest Gump
This was a scenic view of the golf course which was attached to the resort we were staying at.
Along the Golf course and along the ocean, there were several tubes in the lava that would spout out water as the waves came in.

We got a chance to go through a session at the Kona Hawaii temple. It was small but beautiful!
Again our favorite thing to do was back to the same beach to snorkel. We heard from several people that this was the best place on this side of the island to snorkel. It doesn't look like much but under the water there were TONS of amazing fish and turtles.

The turtles ranged from small to big. Julie is posing next to one of the smaller turtles that was just relaxing in the sun.
A final picture of Scott and Jen in front of the beach we snorkeled at. We were here at least once a day, sometimes twice.
The final sunset.
We had sooo much fun on our trip and it was soooo relaxing. We missed our kids but we were sure glad that Staci and Paul invited us to spend the special occasion with them. I hope we get a chance to return again soon. It was also the perfect trip for our tenth year being married as we always said we would go to Hawaii on our ten year anniversary.

Trunk or Treat and Halloween

Finally they got to go Trunk or Treat for real this time. All the cars were lined up in a row and a LOT of candy passed hands.
As you can see, some people got into it more than others. This car had blacklights and smoke coming out of the trunk. It was chaotic at times so Billy kept an eye on his little brother.
At the end of the night we spread out the candy to look see how much loot they got.
After they all got dressed for bed, it was hard to get them wound down because of the amount of sugar they had eaten.

Two days later on Halloween, we started all over again.
This time all the neighbor kids walked together collecting candy. At times it became a race.
Drew's costume was a big hit. It has never gone out of style even though it has gone through Billy and Maverick.

You can never have too many pictures of a good costume!

Even though we didn't take a lot of pictures, we ended the night at Grandma and Grandpa Holden's house. Max had a cute costume too so we had to take a picture of it. Hallee and Maverick had good costumes too but the camera was not out to take pictures.
Overall it was a successful halloween. Lot's of candy and no injuries! The kids got to Trick or Treat until they were done. Now we get to look forward to Thanksgiving!

Halloween Party

Maggie was practicing her dance for her upcoming dance recital. We thought some of our family would enjoy this.

Julie and the kids met at the neighbors house for the annual Halloween Party. There were several kids there and several pumpkins that needed to be carved.

Dave, Heather and Chris helped the kids carve the pumpkins.
Drew hung out in his walker so he couldn't make himself sick on pumkin guts.

There were lots of Halloween treats...
Including Spider biscuits.
Billy and Maggie had to scoop out their own pumkins.

Finally the pumpkins were carved and all lined up in a row.

At the request of some of her fans, I decided to include more pictures of Julie. (I sometimes have a hard time pinning her down and getting a picture taken).

So I have to resort to taking the pictures when she is not paying attention! She was watching T.V. with Billy and Drew. Drew did NOT want to sit in her lap, he wanted to sit by himself like a big boy off to the side of beoth Julie and Billy.

Trunk or Treat Oops!

We all dressed up this evening and went over to the church so the kids could go trunk or treating (When everyone from the church gets together in the church parking lot and gives candy out from the trunks of their cars). We went to the church and there were only two cars in the parking lot. I called Julie, who was still working at home, and she looked on the announcements and saw that the event is not until Wednesday the 29th. The kids were dissapointed. We ended up getting pizza, their favorite meal, to make up for it.

Stay tuned for real trunk or treat pictures after the 29th.

Fall is Here

Drew loves to listen to music on the headphones and dance to the music.Maggie and Billy after a long day of playing outside.

Maggie's fieldtrip to the corn maze. I can't believe it's that time of year again. It seems like we just got done with this same fieldtrip last year!

Magie again with her friend Tiley
Drew entertained himself with toys, leaves, and whatever else he could get into!
All the kids and adults got lost in the corn maze.

There were even games with prizes.
In the end, a good time was had by all!
