I apologize up front if there are a hundred pictures to look through, however we just got home from Lake Powell and found that there were too many good pictures that described our trip and we couldn't leave very many of them out. As it is there are still about 50 pictures not listed below of our trip. We had a blast though as you'll see from the pictures. We left on June 13th at 3:00 am and drove 6 hours to reach Lake Powell. As you can see as soon as we got there no time was wasted. After the housboat was settled and everyone got a good night sleep, the next day started off right with a Tube ride. Billy and Maggie enjoyed riding the innertubes with their cousin Chelsey. 
During the first day and the subsequent days thereafter Drew would only take naps on the boat rides because there was too much going on that he did not want to miss out on by taking a boring nap.
Maggie even got to ride the innertube with her cousin Halee.
Julie's mom, Amelia, got out into the water and rode the tube alongside Maggie.
When we got back to the boat people did not stay out of the water for long as the generator had decided to die the week before Julie's parents had their time share, which meant no air conditioning inside the houseboat. The water was a refreshing 68 to 72 degrees (an estimate). Scott spent some time with Drew and Maggie in the water to cool off as well.
Julie cooling off with Drew and Billy. Drew was sporting the bandana to both keep the sun off his head and to keep him cool out of the water. We soaked the bandana with water and kept it on his head to keep him refreshed. The tempature began at around 87 degrees on the first day we arrived and climbed to 100 the rest of the days we were there.
Drew kept himself busy inside the houseboat finding whatever he could to occupy his time. He has begun to get very mobile and if you look close you will notice the mark on his head which matches the patern on the carpet. Drew was sitting on the couch and decided he would rather be on the floor and thought the best way to get there would be headfirst before anyone could help him.
This is a picture of one of the excursions which we took out into the lake. The water here was deep and fairly clear compaired to the shoreline which was covered with debris. From day one the water was rapidly filling the lake and rose between 1 to 2 feet a day stirring up sediment. Imagine how much water it takes to fill the entire lake 1 to 2 feet a day!

This is a picture of another swim break while exploring the canyons. Later I include several scenery shots of just how amazing the canyons are.
Drew was content for a few minutes to hang out in his dish. This didn't last long though as he has begun to enjoy his nely found mobility. He's still not walking but he can move fast!
I had to include this photo because If you'll notice Tim, Julie's brother, is in the background with a shovel. We began calling him the fish slayer because there were tons of carp which lined the shoreline in the mornings and the evenings to eat the blades of grass which were covered by the rising water on the shoreline. Tim spent the mornings on more than one occassion trying to chop the carp in half with the shovel. The carp stayed away from us though for the most part otherwise the kids would not have gotten into the water (afraid of fish).
Tim cooked Steaks along with Staci on Father's day. It was a good meal. I don't think we had any bad meals.

I walked up to the top of the hill next to where we parked the houseboat and took a panoramic set of pictures overlooking the lake.
And finally the cove where we parked the houseboat.
During the heat of the day another fun past time was playing heart, a Lake Powell tradition.
This is a picture of Billy getting ready for bed by having his pre-bedtime snack. The kids enjoyed the fact that everyone brought about five different treats apiece. more than enough to last for three weeks let alone 5 days.
Other activities on the houseboat included coloring for the girls.
The kids all in the water again. Partway through the week the wind started to pick up and we had to re adjus tthe anchors to the boat several times because of the water rising along with the wind. In the background of this picture you can see that the water was a little rougher than the other pictures we took.

Scott and Billy walking on water. They are standing on an island which was approximately 3 feet above the water when we pulled the houseboat into the cove. This made navigation of the lake tricky as the boats had to watch for obstacles just under the surface.
On the last day we went on a ride to explore the canyons one last time. I held Drew in an attempt to get him to fall asleep on the boat ride.

Julie in front of some of the cliffs. It's hard to describe exactly how big these cliffs were. I think they were over 200 feet high. I took a few pictures to attempt to give some perspective.
Maggie ended up falling asleep on the boat ride, something she never does on her own. Naps are unheard of with our Maggie.
These are called the "painted cliffs" maybe you can see why. I estimated this cliff to be anywhere from 300 to 500 feet high. Again it's hard to do it justice in a picture.
This was a picture that had to be taken. As the water rose it began to cover some of the dead trees which were normally underwater. It was a water forest. It's hard to see in the picture but if you zoom in, the tree's were amazing.

This is a picture coming out of one of the canyons and into the main channel. I though it looked cool because there were the high cliff walls on both sides of the canyon. Also in this picture you can see the white where the water has been in years past. Even though the water was higher than it has been in about two years, it is still low for Lake Powell.
How would you like to use this floating restroom in the middle of a windstorm.
This is an example of boating down the canyons and how they would just wind around eachother until you came to a dead end.

During our swim breaks in the canyons it was always nice to find a shady spot to get out of the heat. Several overhanging ledges served for perfect shade.
Drew was out! He could sleep for hours as long as he was on a boat that was moving.

Along the way we ran into several housboats which chose to anchor right in the canyons. Another picture to show just how tall the cliffs were.

This was a rock perched in between two canyon walls. I remember the rock in the same exact spot about 9 years ago on my first trip to Lake Powell.
This was 6 houseboats lined up together. A group which was no doubt partying into the night.
Everyone was "tuckered out" on the way home from Lake Powell.
Even Maggie was tired and fell asleep on her own which hardly ever happens. Two times on one trip though is a record.
Still asleep on the ride home. We couldn't help but take a picture especially when he looked so innocent.

In the end we had an amazing trip which wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for Tim and Amelia and their generosity. It was memories that I think the kids and Julie and I will remember forever.

The ride home on the bus. Overall it has already been a fun summer so far. I can tell that it will only get busier both during the summer and next school year. Billy is excited that we enrolled him in both Karate and Soccer while Maggie is looking forward to Dance. All this means more driving around for Mom and Dad, but also hopefully more fond memories. We look forward to a long eventful summer and hopefully we'll be able to catch some of the fun moments and post them on our blog.
